Praise from the Epcot Center Imagination Pavilion's Original Dreamfinder!
What a start to my weekend. I had the great honor to find the following note in my email!
Jeff --
My name is Ron Schneider. I was the first and original strolling Dreamfinder & Figment at Journey Into Imagination from '82 to '87, and I was the official voice for the Dreamfinder (after Chuck McCann was "let go".)
I'm writing you because I have just received and glanced through your video tribute to my old stomping grounds and couldn't let another minute go by without thanking you and congratulating you on a sterling job!!
Your footage, editing, sound, color and comprehensive coverage really took me back to the old ride and I'll be using this great production for years to come to demonstrate the old show to people (always giving the credit to JeffLangeDVD, of course)!
Thanks again for all your hard work,
Ron Schneider
Photos above provided by Ron Schneider as the original Dreamfinder (with Figment of course) in the early years of the Imagination pavilion.
I really appreciate his kind words about my Journey Into Imagination DVD, especially from someone who appreciates and contributed so much to the history of Epcot Center! Thanks to Ron Schneider for providing so much happiness as the original Dreamfinder. I really wish the Dreamfinder was still with us in the parks today.
Jeff Lange Remembers Epcot's Journey Into Imagination 25th Anniversary Collectors Edition is available now. For more information or to order the DVD please click HERE. Journey Into Imagination Photo Memories: A Tribute To Dreamfinder.
Hello everyone and welcome back. Today I will be continuing my Journey Into Imagination Photo Memories series with a tribute to Epcot Center's long lost keeper of Imagination (and friend of Figment) 'Dreamfinder'.
This was the area that you exited into after experiencing the 3-D film Magic Journeys (or later Captain EO). Dreamfinder could usually be found here posing for photos with his friend Figment (like above with my sister Amy). Note the Kodak camera & film shop in the above photo. This area has now changed to 'Figments Place', a meet & greet with a giant sized Figment.
"I am the Dreamfinder", This was your first encounter with the Dreamfinder as he introduced himself from the controls of his Dream Catcher. We next encounter our new host painting a color changing mural using a giant fiber optic paint brush.
More scenes from the classic attraction feature Dreamfinder in various performing arts persona's Above our friend conducting a laser light symphony and next he is dressed as a mysterious wizard.
In the above scenes Dreamfinder operates a scientific contraption to show the miniature workings of nature. These are projected on movie screens surrounding the ride vehicles.
Finally we come to the end our our Journey Into Imagination. We see the Dreamfinder behind an old fashion camera telling us to "Use our newly found sparks of imagination in the Image Works". Next we look straight ahead and see that an on-ride photo (taken earlier going between scenes) is projected on a screen. This was well before these became common as a merchandising feature. These photos were never sold and they only exist now for those guests who photographed them with their personal cameras. This was not an easy task in those days before digital photography (yes, that is me above in the back right).

Journey Into Imagination Photo Memories - Upside Down Figment Details - Future Production Update.
Hello everyone and welcome back for another Photo Memories update. This edition features Epcot's Journey Into Imagination and some very cool shots of Figment's upside down 'Open House'.
We start with the exterior and the pavilion's original sign. Note the small signs on either side for Captain EO and The Image Works . Next is our new friend Figment greeting us as we pass by in our omnimovers.
Now we'll have some fun looking at the detail of the upside down rooms in the second version of the attraction ' Journey Into Your Imagination' and the current version ' Journey Into Imagination with Figment'.
I just love comparing these photos right down to the Figment purple toilet paper and wallpaper!
Next update I will focus on some great hidden Figments and closeup details not normally possible to view when riding the attraction. This just goes to demonstrate the Imagineers great attention to detail... even though most guests will never see it!
Production Update: I have been uploading vintage video all week in preparation for the following releases.
Disneyland's 45th Anniversary, Featuring, 'Believe... There's Magic in the Stars', the '45 Years of Magic Parade', a visit to Club 33, a Horse Car ride down Main Street USA to see all the 45th Anniversary decorations, the final performance of the Woody’s Roundup stage show recorded July 17th, 2000 and more.
Epcot's The Land, Featuring the original 'Listen to the Land', The 'Kitchen Kabaret Revue', Farmer's Market scenes,'Symbiosis', 'Food Rocks', 'Living with the Land' and more.
